Julio César met his friends for a beer in Puno, in southeastern Peru. Along with the thirst quenchers, there was a mummy in his grocery delivery bag. César proudly showed them to his friends. But the joy was short-lived.
Police asked the man to open his grocery delivery bag. The police stopped and discovered the mummy. They then notified the public prosecutor’s office and the Ministry of Culture.
Mumie has been in the family for around 30 years
The mummy is said to have been in the family for about thirty years. An unsuccessful attempt was made to hand over the mummy to a local museum, César told the newspaper “El Popular”.
According to the authorities, the mummy is around 800 years old and comes from the Peruvian district of Patambuco in the province of Sandia. Furthermore, it was found that the mummified person is a man. The mummy is in the custody of the authorities. In Peru It is forbidden to own mummies privately.
