There is still a problem with financial equalization. At a meeting between the state health officers and Social Minister Johannes Rauch (Greens), no agreement was reached, as Carinthian state councilor Beate Prettner (SPÖ), representing the current state chair, emphasized in a broadcast. The states have made many suggestions for further development and sustainable reforms. But above all there needs to be clarification of the financing of the foundation of patient care.
According to Prettner, Rauch promised that he would discuss this issue with the Finance Minister. It was emphasized to the minister that the ongoing underfunding of the health system and future problems arising from inflation and the development of personnel costs were the central challenges of the outpatient and inpatient system. Prettner regretted that the minister did not support the proposal to secure financing.
