The Qatar 2022 World Cup is already beginning to take place, since this Friday the groups of the contest were defined. Although the team that will win the ticket to this series is not known, the winning team already has confirmed rivals: it will clash against France, Denmark and Tunisia in Group D. In this sense, coach Didier Deschamps, current world champion with ‘Les Bleus’ referred to the likely new opponent he will face in the tournament.
“Logic would suggest that it is Peru that will qualify, due to its position in the ranking. We will wait, because history also says that the best placed is not always the one who entered the World Cup”, explained the experienced coach of the French representative in an interview for L’Équipe, after the draw held in Doha.
Precisely, because nothing is defined, Didier Deschamps confessed that now he only focuses on the selected ones that he will have ahead of him in the upcoming World Cup. “Denmark is clearly the strongest rival in our group. They are semifinalists of the European Championship and eleventh in the FIFA ranking”, said the DT.
“The Danes are ahead of Germany. There is respect. As always, we will take our opponents with the utmost seriousness in analysis”, sentenced the coach of the France team.
