Petrol Diesel prices | Fuel prices rise again; A maximum of Rs

Petrol and diesel prices have been hiked by 80 paise per liter on Sunday, April 3. So far, in 13 days, the fuel price revision has increased by about Rs 8.00 per liter.

In the national capital, petrol is currently priced at Rs 103.41 per liter and diesel at Rs 94.67 per liter. In Mumbai, petrol and diesel became dearer by 84 paise to Rs 118.41 and diesel by 85 paise to Rs 102.64 per liter, respectively.

In Chennai, petrol and diesel were priced at Rs 108.21 and Rs 99.04 per liter (up by 75 paise and 76 paise respectively). In Kolkata, petrol was priced at Rs 113.03 (up 84 paise) and diesel at Rs 97.82 (up by 80 paise). In Bengaluru, a liter of petrol costs Rs 108.99 and a liter of diesel Rs 92.83.

Fuel prices have risen across the country. Petrol and diesel prices vary from state to state, depending on local tax developments.

This is the 11th price hike since the end of a four-and-a-half month long hiatus on March 22.

Petrol and diesel prices have stabilized since the start of the election campaign in five states, including Uttar Pradesh, in early November 2021. The 137-day record freeze ended on March 22nd. Since then, petrol and diesel prices have continued to rise.

Jet fuel prices rose 2 percent on Friday. This is the seventh consecutive increase this year. Jet fuel prices have reached an all-time high, reflecting the surge in global energy prices.

Petrol price in Kochi on Sunday rose by 87 paise to Rs 113.02. Diesel price has been hiked by 85 paise to Rs 99.98 per liter. In Thiruvananthapuram, petrol costs Rs 115.01 and diesel Rs 101.83. In Kozhikode it is Rs 113.2 and Rs 100.18 respectively.

On Saturday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan posted a Facebook post demanding the immediate intervention of the Central Government to tackle ‘uncontrolled fuel inflation’ in the country.
