Vienna (OTS) – “You have to offer support instead of turning a blind eye to hardship cases. If Barbara Neßler is actually aware of cases in which children are sent to school hungry and parents violate their duty of care, I call on her to help these children by informing the youth welfare office of these cases. Because leaving children neglected is definitely not a trivial offense. “The youth welfare office can then provide parents with advice and refer them to places that offer help,” replies the women’s spokeswoman for the People’s Party, Elisabeth Pfurtscheller, to the Green MP Barbara Neßler.

“We live in a wealthy country with a strong welfare state that supports all people who do not have enough of their own. If some parents have a lack of information about the many agencies that help in cases of hardship, it is our moral duty to inform them about offers of help. I find it a shame that Ms. Neßler, instead of helping directly and concretely, joins the senseless outrage tactics of the opposition parties. Because I can assure you of one thing: every child that Ms. Neßler is talking about would be helped if the information was correct,” continued Pfurtscheller, who concluded by emphasizing: “We believe in Austria and its people, Ms. Neßler obviously doesn’t.”
