It’s new and convenient for patients. Pharmacists, nurses and midwives are now authorized to prescribe and inject almost all the vaccines provided for in the vaccination schedule. No need to go through the “Doctor” box.
Patients over the age of 11 can contact the pharmacist, nurse or midwife to get vaccinated.
With third-party payment, patients won’t have to pay anything. To be authorized to vaccinate, the 60,000 pharmacists in France will first have to follow a formation.
Postgraduate students of medicine or pharmacy studies, who are authorized, under the supervision of an internship supervisor, to administer the vaccines of the vaccination schedule.

A pharmacist will be able to prescribe and inject all the vaccines provided for in the vaccination schedule for patients over 11 years of age. Until now, they could vaccinate against the flu, covid-19 or tetanus for example. Ditto for nurses, medical biology laboratory workers and midwives are also affected by this expansion of skills, according to the decree.
Exception : live attenuated vaccines, such as the one against measles for example, for immunocompromised people, and vaccines for travel.
