Mistakes happen. Stupid when it happens on the cover of a magazine. Sofia Goggia graces the cover photo of “Sette” magazine. The Italian ski star cuddles in bed with her dog.
The speed specialist is justifiably proud to present the photo on social media, where her fans quickly notice a mistake.
The photo has been edited and shows Goggia with two left feet. The amusement among her followers is great.
“But why two left feet?” asks one. Another added: “I knew Sofia was seriously injured, but I didn’t know she had two left feet.”
“That’s why my left turns are so good”
Photographer Massimo Sestini explains that he had the mishap. He wrote on Instagram: “My reworker decided to replace one of Sofia Goggia’s feet because it wasn’t in a great position.” Sestini apologized for the lapse.
Goggia, who broke her shin in a fall at the beginning of February, reacts with humor. “I thought the operation on my foot had gone something wrong,” she says when asked about it on the Viva Rai2 show. “I thought the orthopedists didn’t do a good job, even if they guaranteed it afterwards.”
If that wasn’t enough, she went one better: “That’s why my left turns are so good.”
