English reporter Piers Morgan has infuriated Canadians for making fun of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Trudeau shared a photo on X on Sunday. In the photo he can be seen with his son in front of a “Barbie” poster. The caption: “We are Team Barbie”.
Piers Morgan retweeted the photo and wrote: “I’m so glad I’m not Canadian.”
On Sunday, Trudeau shared a photo of himself and his son Xavier dressed in pink in front of you Barbie posters in a movie theater stand. “We are Team Barbie,” reads the caption – a nod to the “Barbenheimer” phenomenon, a social media trend triggered by the simultaneous release of “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer”. But this harmonious father-son moment apparently struck a chord with Morgan, who retweeted the photo with the caption, “I’m so glad I’m not Canadian.”
Many Canadians and politicians from various parties defended the prime minister. For example, Charlie Angus, MP for the NDP (New Democratic Party) reacted to X with “Stay the fuck out of Canada, mate.”
Other X users reacted to the tweet. Most react ironically and are glad that Piers Morgan is not Canadian.
