2023-04-21 06:57:47

Youth, manga, thrillers, comics… The Paris Book Festival is back at the Grand Palais Ephémère from April 21 to 23. Here are 3 good reasons to participate in this great literary festival, which will bring together some 1,000 French-speaking and international authors.

There are famous authors

The Paris Book Festival invites the public to attend debates, conferences and meetings with authors. And there are beautiful people: Daniel Pennac, Laurent Gaudé, Amélie Nothomb, Catherine Meurisse (first female cartoonist to enter the Academy of Fine Arts), or Brigitte Giraud, winner of the Goncourt 2022 prize for her novel “Vivre fast”. Véronique Ovaldé, mangaka Atsushi Kaneko, and humorist Alex Vizorek, also responded.

Italy is in the spotlight

For this second edition, the Festival honors Italy, its authors and their works. You will thus be able to meet around fifty Italian authors in Paris, including the novelists Alessandro Baricco, to whom we owe “Castles of Wrath”, Milena Angus, the academician Maurizio Serra, but also comic book authors such as Milo Manara. Without forgetting Erri de Luca, one of the favorite Italian authors of the French.

There is something for every taste

When you get there, it’s hard not to leave with your arms full of books. It must be said that 300,000 works are on offer and that there is something for all tastes and for all ages: youth, thrillers, comics, practical books, human sciences, spirituality… Hundreds of publishing houses have made the travel, including 10/18, Actes Sud, Calmann-Lévy, or Dargaud. This year, 100,000 book lovers are expected at the Grand Palais Éphémère.

Paris Book Festival, Grand Palais Éphémère (Paris 7th), from April 21 to 23. Free admission for under 25s. Full price: €5 per ticket.
