After a late spring, Piknic Électronik is very happy to make its big comeback on May 22 at Parc Jean-Drapeau. For his 19e season, Piknic Électronik’s outdoor site will be open to maximum capacity for the first time since 2019, and even optimized to offer more space to festival-goers!
Montrealers’ favorite festive ritual will therefore kick off the festival season in Montreal, in just under two weeks: they are Breakbot & Irfane, worthy representatives of the french touchwhich will open the festivities of this 19th season which promises to be more boosted than ever!
For this new edition, it is beats of a joint male/female programming that will vibrate the Jean-Drapeau Parkwith no less than eighteen events and a hundred performances throughout the summer.
Overview of music programming
For the first weekend, Breakbot & Irfane will open the ball on the Videotron stage on Sunday, May 22. They will be accompanied by the Frenchman Darius and the Montreal duo Voyage Funktastice.
Sugarface Belfo will storm the wooded scene before being joined by Montrealer Poirier, who will mix B2B with KYOU.
Exceptionally, taking advantage of the holiday, the festivities will continue the next day, Monday May 23, with the house progressive by Hernan Cattaneo, who will be in charge of the Videotron stage from 4 p.m.
On the Boisé stage, festival-goers will also move to the rhythm of the disco-house from Salome the CatSierra and Victor Rodriguez who will bring the final touch to this first electric weekend!
To conclude this crazy month of May, the legendary band from Detroit Octave One will be at Parc Jean-Drapeau. They will be preceded by Montrealers CMD and Claire who will, without a doubt, thrill the crowd.
Finally, it is with the rising star of breakbeat of Bristol Batu as well as with Lis Dalton and Boomer Baby that will conclude this first month of Piknic Électronik 2022.
OFF Piknic summer evenings
Remember that in addition to the regular Sunday programming, Piknic Électronik will offer several evenings in OFF Piknic mode throughout the summer: special evenings, where big names in the electronic scene and artistic collectives will follow one another on the turntables of Parc Jean- Flag.
In May, festival-goers will be able to find, under this formula, on May 19 and 20, the talented producer KAYTRANADAand le 27 mai Maceo Plex and DJ Tennis!
