Elden Ring tape le carton – From Software, Bandai Namco – News

Bandai Namco expected to sell 4 million copies of Elden Ring. They sold 13.4 million between its February 22 release and March 31. And all without season passDLCs, micro-transactions, NFTs, pre-order bonuses… Bandai Namco has just allowed itself a Deluxe Edition with a artbook and the BO. And we are also talking about a brand new license that has no desire to take the player by the hand.

The development also seems to have gone rather well: From Software probably started to really work on it after the release of Sekiro in March 2019 and the game was officially announced in June 2019. During E3 2021, Bandai Namco announced a January 2022 release and the game was pushed back just a month.

Note that not everything seems rosy at From Software according to the Japanese Glassdoor (even if the most recent reviews are 6 years old) but perhaps the success of Elden Ring (which follows that of Sekiro, 5 million copies sold) will give some pause to publishers who think that the future is to release games-abuse/MMO-but-not-too-much that all look alike.
