Spanish press reports revealed that Barcelona defender Gerard Pique was “deeply angry” at his ex-partner, Colombian singer Shakira, after the two parties did not reach an agreement regarding the custody of their two children.
Pique and Shakira separated last June and entered into a crisis in obtaining custody of their two children, Milan and Sasha, as the Colombian singer wants to settle in Miami, USA, away from the Spanish city of Barcelona.
According to the Spanish newspaper, “La Vanguardia”, the player had hoped to put an end to the ongoing series of negotiations on Friday, but he was angry that his former partner had put constant obstacles in the way of reaching a final agreement between them, and angrily left their last meeting.
Despite the tense situation between the two parties, they agreed not to resort to court and legal disputes under any circumstances, and not to leave the decision to choose the person responsible for raising the two children in the hands of the judges.
The two parties will move to the next step after custody of the children, which is the separation of assets between the two parties, as Shakira will receive an amount of 300 million dollars, while Pique will remain about 80 million dollars.
The two stars met before the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, during Shakira’s filming of the famous song “Waka Waka”. They have Milan (9 years old) and Sasha (6 years old).
