PL: Villa roll in Sheffield, Unai Emery’s side in 4th place

Sheffield United, who were last in the league, were let down three times in quick succession by the high defense: in the space of eight minutes John McGinn, Ollie Watkins and Leon Bailey also converted a quick counterattack into a goal. We were only in the 30th minute, when a visiting corner Youri Tielemans his crossbar shot into the goal – some of the home fans already went home, the upset spectators mightn’t bear to watch their humiliation any longer.

A minute and a half following the break Alex Moreno for a change, he scored his team’s fifth goal from a catch. We might have believed that this would be a bigger blowout, but the sides did not score more valid goals (the home team’s goal was ruled out by VAR as offside) – the end result was still a humiliating defeat for the “blades”. On the other hand, Unai Emery’s team overtook the struggling Tottenham in the early followingnoon and moved up to 4th place.
