The “Renewable Heat Act” will not come as planned. It won’t come because the majority of people in this country cannot bear the costs. Anyone who needs to equip their house with a new heating system and – a little EU treat – also has to add thermal insulation can easily find themselves with a sum of around 70,000 euros. According to a recent survey, 47 percent of people in this country do not have 1,000 euros on hand for emergencies. The tenants will also face immense increases, because homeowners will have to add the full costs to the rent! Ergo – who should pay for it? And it’s now about the middle class, not about the poorest of the poor. The sensational poll numbers for the AFD and FPÖ show that people rely on these parties because they want to survive – financially! Or do we only have the choice between plague and cholera?
