Platform brings your favorite film back to the cinema

LINZ/PASCHING. Decide for yourself what’s on in the cinema: You-invite brings your favorite films back to the big screen, including in the Hollywood Megaplex.

The concept is simple: on the you-invite.com homepage, interested parties can choose from a range of films and cast their vote by clicking on the Like button. If the film receives enough votes, a screening in the cinema will be planned. If enough tickets are sold, the film is off.

From the idea to enthusiastic visitors

Martin Stangl and Peter Bösch founded You-invite two years ago, and the community has been growing ever since. “Around a third of our visitors are repeat visitors and the number is constantly increasing. We’re happy regarding that, because we now know that there are even more cinema-crazy people out there than the two of us,” said the founders with a wink.

It is exciting to see which films the community chooses, “and there were quite a few that we thought would do poorly in the voting,” says Bösch. In fast forward, these were movies like Howl’s Moving Castle, Warcraft – The Beginning, Space Balls, Stargate, The Fifth Element, Gladiator, Alien, Starship Troopers, My Neighbor Totoro”, “Chihiro”, “Pulp Fiction”, “Dirty Dancing” and many more.

“Our concept of bringing selected films back to the cinema expands the current range without competing with it and supports local cinema operators. Also, and that’s the most important thing, it’s extremely well received,” says Stangl.
