Pedro Ramírez Meléndez, assistant manager of Marketing of San Juan, explained that in the first instance they held a meeting with the merchants of the José Abelardo Quiñones square, who denounced that the district mayor, Joel Parimango, intends to evict them.
“The mayor is proposed to move them to the esplanade of the Model, seeing all the marketing and needs, as well as the stands that they may have and make alliances with consumers so that they can visit them,” he said.
Ramírez criticized that the merchants oppose the proposals and have not proposed another relocation point, such as San Juanero, which is the area closest to Plaza Quiñones.
For his part, the person in charge of the Marketing Division, Víctor Panduro, using the principle of authority, last Wednesday proceeded to evict the vendors who settled in the surroundings of the plaza.
“In the malpractice that occurred in previous efforts, they have turned it into a market with stalls and it is a square,” he said.
