Plungers invest in technology and qualification

According to data from Abralimp (Brazilian Association of the Professional Cleaning Market), released in Jornal Contábil, the annual billing of the service sector remained heated during the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2022, the segment, which includes plungers, grew by 1.3%.

The service sector also goes against the grain of the unemployment scenario, which increased between 2019 and 2022. The high demand of the sector in the last four years has made companies invest more in the qualification of teams, to avoid problems such as employee turnover and remain solid in the market.

Qualified labor is one of the essential factors for most businesses, especially when it comes to essential services, says entrepreneur Ricardo Webr, director of Desentupidora SP, a company that provides solutions for unclogging services in São Paulo (SP).

“Professionals in the area need to know how to perform everything from unclogging a drain to dealing with contamination and clearing sewer pipes,” he says. “For these workers, professional qualification and the use of advanced technologies provide the necessary capacity to deal with the challenges”, he says.

State-of-the-art equipment and professionalism are a differential

According to Sebrae, small and medium-sized plumbing companies earn, on average, R$ 40,000 per month. According to Webr, depending on the services provided, this value can be even higher. “A number of factors contribute to determining revenue success in this industry. Some of them are investments in technology and professionalism, which are differentials that contribute to improving the quality of services”.

In addition to state-of-the-art technology, professional qualification is also important, adds the director. This is because it is necessary to have knowledge and experience to operate the new equipment in order to carry out the different services provided by companies in the sector. For this, having knowledge of techniques and methods that can help in carrying out your daily activities makes all the difference.

“The use of technologies for cleaning and detection of clogs improves both the performance and the time and costs involved in performing the services”, says Webr. “According to Abralimp, technologies like these helped move around US$ 1.04 billion (R$ 5.46 billion) in Latin America in 2018”, he reports.

Investments attract new customers

In the view of the director of Desentupimento SP, professional qualification emerges as an alternative that contributes to attracting new customers in companies and the professional cleaning market is no different. This is because, with the qualification, comes the necessary knowledge to offer a service well done. As a result, there is a gain in the satisfaction of customers who start to indicate the service to other people.

“The organic promotion ends up attracting new customers to companies in the sector and creates a strong and continuous network of new acquisitions”, he explains.

In addition to specialization, it is also important that the service involves empathy and respect – differentials that, together, contribute to providing a qualified and efficient service. And it is not just up to the professional or team that is providing the service, but to the entire management of the enterprise.

“Professional qualification is important for a plunger’s results, especially today, when consumers are increasingly concerned about the quality and service they offer, rather than just the price,” says Webr.

Therefore, he continues, companies providing services, including plungers, should always seek training for their professionals. “Investing in knowledge and qualification is the best path to a quality service with promising results”, he concludes.
