The US Police are investigating a series of strange robberies of women in New York that seem to have a single objective: to take a shoe.
The first incident took place in January in Brooklyn, when the man followed a woman into a building and took off her right shoe, local network PIX 11 reports.
The pattern was repeated on two other occasions. In February, the man took a shoe from another woman, 47, in a Brooklyn subway station.
The most recent case took place on May 24, when the same subject approached a 24-year-old woman who was in the Rego Center Queens shopping center and removed her left shoe, according to the New York Post.
The girl said the man came up behind her, lifted her leg and took off her shoe. The woman, who wants to remain anonymous, described the incident as “really creepy”.
