American police officer Derek Chauvin, convicted of the murder of African-American George Floyd, provoking a large anti-racist movement in the United States, was stabbed and injured by another inmate in a federal prison in Arizona, in the south -western United States, according to the New York Times.
An appeal rejected by the Supreme Court
The detainee was transported “to a local hospital for treatment and examination,” they added. Derek Chauvin had also pleaded guilty to “violations of the civil rights” of George Floyd before a federal judge and received another sentence in 2022, 21 years in prison.
