Kirchheim unter Teck (dpa/lsw) – The man who killed his 58-year-old wife in front of a supermarket in Kirchheim unter Teck was a police officer. The background to the fact lies in the private and family environment, said a police spokesman on Thursday. The 59-year-old was an employee of the State Criminal Police Office. He and his wife lived separately.
After the deadly shots from the service pistol, the 59-year-old shot himself. Passers-by informed the officials around 7:30 p.m. when they heard the shots. Police officers who arrived just a few minutes later found the woman dead in the entrance area of the supermarket. The husband was found dead in his car in the parking lot. The alleged murder weapon was also found there. Bystanders were not injured, it was said.
