Riot police and emergency services shut down an out-of-control Halloween party on Friday night after an estimated 200 revellers spilled from a $10 million coastal property on Eastbourne Avenue in Sydney’s east, overlooking Clovelly beach, onto the surrounding roadway.
Climax of the Waterfront Function
Emergency services, including police and NSW Ambulance paramedics, arrived at the property at about 8.50pm. By the time officers reached the scene, the function was in full swing. A large group of attendees had flooded out of the house and onto the street, featuring gatecrashers who had hopped fences to join the gathering. Photographs from OnScene Bondi captured revellers wearing fake police outfits, Breaking Bad meth cook costumes, and LeBron James lookalike gear.
The arrival of actual emergency crews swiftly halted the event. Authorities ordered the gathering to be shut down immediately. Officers maintained a presence outside the home while teenagers exited and scattered through nearby neighbourhood streets. Paramedics established a triage zone on the street to evaluate intoxicated partygoers, with several teenage girls spotted slumped on the grass. A teenage girl received on-site treatment for intoxication before being transported to Prince of Wales Hospital for further evaluation. NSW Police confirmed that no arrests were made and no property damage was recorded, though officers remained stationed outside the waterfront property until the crowds had completely dispersed.
Simultaneous Incident in Sydney’s Northwest
While operations wrapped up in Clovelly, police responded to a separate violent incident at an overnight house party in Sydney’s northwest. Officers shut down a gathering at a house on Charles Tompson Boulevard in Marsden Park. A fight broke out while police were at the premises, resulting in an 18-year-old man being stabbed. A 17-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and charged with reckless wounding and possessing a prohibited drug. He was refused bail to appear at a children’s court.
