The motorcycle, bearing registration number M 26-AB 384, was operated by Samuel Arthur Wesley. The rider informed investigators at the Airport Police Station that a police patrol team member riding another motorcycle began chasing them from the UPSA-Legon junction toward the motorway. The petition states that the officer caught up with the motorcycle and struck it from behind, sending both rider and passenger crashing to the pavement.
