Austria has fallen 26 places to 47th place in the global ranking of equality between women and men. The main reason for this disgrace is the lower representation of women in politics, according to the World Economic Forum (WEF). Anyone who had expected that Minister for Women Susanne Raab (ÖVP) would now stand up in the media and present us all with her package of measures for the way to half power – such as a right to high-quality childcare or mandatory paternity leave or quotas in operational management areas – will be disappointed again.
