Portrait – Honolulu is suddenly in the middle of Bregenz

For a long time, the city of Bregenz has been trying to revitalize the somewhat ailing Weiherviertel. Lo and behold, something actually happens. We owe this to Rahel Schoenthal and Roland Lang, who opened the Honolulu Hotel in the former Hotel Helvetia last week. That doesn’t just sound exotic. This is really new territory, at least for the region. “The “Honolulu” is not a hotel in the narrower sense, there is no kitchen. Rather, we want to create a playground for creative people,” says Roland, who was born in Bregenz, describing the concept that he developed together with his partner.
