POS to Cashier Interface: Deadline for checks expires today – 2024-03-23 04:09:34

Expires today, Tuesday, March 19the deadline for submitting applications to the “Digital Transactions” program through which part of the purchase and POS interface costs are covered as well as a number of additional digital needs of a business.

Receiving a funding voucher also covers those who have already purchased a POS or have already made the connection fee, with the voucher acting as a credit against future charges from the provider or in some cases (depending on the provider) leading to an equal refund of money already paid.

Each business, if it meets the eligibility criteria, can receive a grant for more than one category. The categories are as follows:

Category 1: Provision of a new or replacement of an existing EFT/POS.
Category 3: Obtaining services of e-invoicing provider & invoicing software.
Category 4: VAT & ADIME upgrade for EFT/POS interface.
Category 5: Replacement of EAFDSSS, except catering businesses.
Category 6: Replacement of FIM (FTM or ADIME or EAFDSSS) of catering businesses.

After extension for 1+1 month given by the Ministry of Finance for the interconnection of the devices, the new dates are as follows:

Until March 31 the debtors should get in touch with the authorized cash register installation technicians in order to complete the procedure.

However, the deadline can be extended for one more month, i.e. until April 30th:
– for those businesses that have not been able to find an available appointment within March, but have scheduled appointment with an installation technician in April. Appointments should be registered on the special platform that was launched last Friday.
– for businesses that will declare to the POS Registry that they are going to replace their cash register system with one of the new all-in-one solutions available which does not require additional interface actions.

In case of failure to interface the POS with the cash register within the binding deadlines, the obligees face a fine of 10,000 euros, if the business is obliged to follow a simple accounting system, or 20,000 euros, if it is obliged to follow a double book accounting system.
