Families can save several hundred euros per year on their electricity and natural gas bills by opting for the cheapest offer. This is what the figures from Creg, the federal energy regulator, show once again. In November, Creg calculated that the potential savings for Walloon households amounted to 1,511 euros per year for electricity and 748 euros for natural gas.
The price advantage is a continuation of recent months. The economic potential in Flanders in November is similar to that of Wallonia. In Brussels, on the other hand, the savings potential is much lower for electricity (679 euros), but much greater for natural gas (1,365 euros).
Savings potential is the amount an average family can save on an annual basis by switching to the cheapest electricity and gas offer on the market, compared to the most expensive existing product.
Note that these are amounts on an annual basis for the energy component of the bill, that is to say excluding network costs, taxes and charges.
