Pure excitement in the title race in the Premier League. Manchester City – eleven points ahead of Liverpool on Matchday 22 – are just one point clear of the Reds seven games later.
It’s made possible by Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino, who fired Jürgen Klopp’s (54) team to a 2-0 win in the supplementary game against Arsenal. Portuguese Jota opens the skore in the 54th minute after receiving a superb interface pass from Thiago. His offensive partner Firmino netted just eight minutes later.
For national captain Granit Xhaka’s team, it is the first league defeat since January 1st. Most recently, the Gunners celebrated five wins in a row. The 29-year-old is in the starting XI for the 15th time this Premier League season. (che)
