It was premiere night on Monday, at the Imperial cinema, for the documentary team The perfect victim, which hits theaters on Wednesday, June 30.
In this cinematic investigation that promises to be powerful, directors Émilie Perreault and Monic Néron ask the question: why do victims of sexual assault choose to report on social networks rather than appeal to the legal system?
The two journalists studied for three years the journey of victims who chose the legal route in the wake of the #MoiAussi movement. In the light of their analyzes and observations, they question the methods of a system resistant to change and find that, in a criminal complaint process, victims must be “perfect” to obtain redress. Several specialists in the fields of law and health testify in the film.
Several renowned guests were expected at the premiere Monday, including several artists and members of the political class.
The perfect victim is a production by Denise Robert, for Cinémaginaire, and a distribution of Films Seville.
