Presidency of the Republic: Guylain Nyembo and Jean Claude Bukasa, the end clap!

By Simeon Isako

After the national executive, President Félix Tshisekedi intends to operate a new and slight reorganization of his cabinet.

According to a well-connected source from the Presidency of the Republic, who confided in CAS-INFOthis change concerns key positions in the Tshisekedi system.

It concerns, for example, the current Chief of Staff, Guylain Nyembo, in office since January 2021, replacing Vital Kamerhe. This one should, in a short time, give up his chair to another close to the tenant of the Palais de la Nation.

Not really up to par

« At this stage, the mass is already said. Guylain Nyembo will without fail be replaced. The Head of State considers that his Chief of Staff is not really up to his task“, says our source.

And to continue: Moreover, it was expected that he would be appointed minister in the Sama II government. It was at the last minute that things changed. He had tried, in vain, to take the ministry of hydrocarbons. Only, his approach did not succeed because the Chief considers that Didier Budimbu should continue with his action at the head of this sector, because he already masters the contours of the file of oil and gas blocks which will have to bring in a lot of money in the public treasury but also the latter has strong support from the first lady« .

Among his possible successors, the name of ” Daddy Tshisuaka, currently Coordinator of Horizon 2023“, he reveals.

Gilbert Kankonde, the big comeback

Still according to the same source, Félix Tshisekedi will, except last minute change, also appoint the former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Gilbert Kankonde, to the post of ” Special Advisor to the Head of State in matters of security, in place of the interim Jean-Claude Bukasa » in office since February 8, 2022.

The choice of a son of Kasai Central at the head of this strategic body of the presidency, would not be a coincidence, according to our source.

« The notability of Kasai-Central wanted the sidelining of François Beya to be compensated by the elevation of a native of this corner of the country.« .

Already, several months ago, he confides, Gilbert Kankonde was ” used by the Head of State for sometimes secret missions. The latter also has a very advanced knowledge of security. He was trained in this“, assures the source.
