This Monday, May 1, 2023, as the social movement against pension reform redoubles in intensity in the four corners of France, Emmanuel Macron took to his social networks to share a message of thanks. “You get up early to feed us. You promote the know-how of our territories. You contribute to our sovereignty. On this May Day, to all the workers, thank you”, wrote the President of the Republic under a photo taken at the Élysée Palace. A post that sparked strong reactions.
Merouan Bounekraf, cook and television host revealed in the 10th season of Top Chef, was particularly upset. Neither one nor two, so he took advantage of this stretched pole to challenge the husband of Brigitte Macron. “Maybe doing something for our 11k bills would be better than a picture, wouldn’t it?”he dared to ask.
