President Sisi and Joe Biden Discuss Humanitarian Aid Efforts in Gaza Strip and Middle East Peace Process

The White House, in a statement, reviewed the phone call between President Sisi And his American counterpart, Joe Biden, where the latter thanked and appreciated the Egyptian authorities and President Sisi for Cairo’s efforts to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip.

The White House said that the two leaders discussed the importance of protecting civilian lives, respecting international humanitarian law, and ensuring that Palestinians are not displaced from Gaza to anywhere.

President Sisi and Biden affirmed their commitment to working together to create conditions to achieve a lasting and sustainable peace in the Middle East, including the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that the two presidents discussed the overall security situation in the Middle East, the latest developments in the military escalation in the Gaza Strip, and the importance of preventing the expansion of the circle of conflict into the regional environment. In this regard, the president affirmed Egypt’s position on the necessity of reaching an immediate humanitarian truce, to strengthen The intensive efforts made by Egypt in cooperation with the United Nations and all international actors, especially the United States, to deliver humanitarian, medical and relief aid to the people of the Gaza Strip. The two presidents agreed on the importance of intensifying efforts to increase aid in a tangible, effective and sustainable way, and in quantities that meet the humanitarian needs of the people of the Strip who They are subjected to enormous suffering.
