Los presidential candidates Next Sunday, October 1, they will present their proposals in the first presidential debate which will take place at the Provincial Forum Convention Center, in the city of Santiago del Estero, with four moderators and a new resource to intercede in the debate.
So much Javier Miley (Freedom Advances), Sergio Massa (Union for the Homeland), Patricia Bullrich (Together for Change), Juan Schiaretti (We do for Our Country) like Myriam Bregman (FIT) will be the protagonists in the event organized by the National University of that province.
They will have to present on three thematic axes: Economy; Education; Human rights and democratic coexistence. The last topic was chosen by the vote of the citizens, through a website made available by the National Electoral Chamber.
The new modality of the right of reply
The protagonists will have five opportunities to ask right of reply, while before they had two. “If a candidate feels touched by something that was said in the presentation of the three thematic axes, will have up to five opportunities to request the right to reply”, indicates the regulation, which states that the reply will be up to 45 seconds.
You can request your reply during the presentation of the candidate who is speaking, through the pressing a green button. Then, the debate moderators will make room for the candidates who requested it in order of request. After the round of right of reply is over, the exhibition dynamics will be resumed in the order established in the draw.
The journalists who will moderate the presidential debate
Each of the meetings will have the participation of two pairs of moderators, made up of a male journalist and a female host from different media outlets. The structure of the presidential debate
Milei, Massa, Bullrich, Schiaretti and Bregman exceeded 1.5% of the votes in the PASO elections on August 13, so they will participate in the debate that will begin at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1. The first of the debates will be held in Santiago del Estero and the second, on Sunday the 8th, will be in the assembly hall of the Faculty of Law of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). According to the regulations of the National Electoral Chamber, the debate will be divided into three blocks. An opening is established, in which each candidate has a free minute to introduce yourself. Then there will be room for right of reply and, once that round is over, a 12 minute television cut. Upon return, Human Rights and democratic coexistence will be debated, with the presentation dynamics in the order established in the draw held at the beginning of September at the CNE.
Another novelty of this debate is that the candidates will be able to crossed questions with each of the participants, with a limited time of 15 seconds to ask the question and another 45 seconds to answer. In this segment, the right to reply will not be enabled. Regarding the closure, the five will have a free minute to convey the message they want.
