“State of arrest” – Time

Arrested and in police custody. French actor Gérard Depardieu has been summoned by investigators with the intention of being arrested for sexual assault. Two women accuse him of having suffered harassment during the filming of two films: the first in 2014, during the production of Magician and the Siameseby Jean-Pierre Mocky, and the second in 2021, during the filming of Green Shutters, by Jean Becker. The first complaint came from an assistant who at the time of the events, in 2014, was 24 years old. According to her version, the actor put “his hands all over her body” before addressing her with “indecent words”, she told the regional newspaper Le Courrier de l’Ouest. Last January the girl had filed a complaint for “sexual assault on a vulnerable person by someone who abused the authority of her position”.

The second complaint, filed last February for “sexual violence”, “harassment” and “sexist insults”, is that of a 53-year-old film decorator. According to her statements, the 75-year-old actor grabbed her in a corridor, blocked her, and attacked her with vulgar words. The film crew, having learned of the facts, would have asked the actor to apologize, which he would have done. An investigation was subsequently opened, according to information from Mediapart. Depardieu has also been indicted, since December 2020, for rape and sexual assault against the actress Charlotte Arnould.
