Dinner turned into a drama. While preparing a good meal for her husband and children, a mother lost her life on February 24 after choking on food. According to information reported by the Daily mail, the young woman, named Siobhan Rose Simmonds and aged 33, was first rushed to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. But after spending a week in a coma, she unfortunately did not survive.
As recalled The Red Cross on its website, it is important to act quickly when faced with this type of situation. When such a phenomenon occurs, the victim cannot respond (maybe shakes his head), but is conscious. She cannot speak, breathe or cough. She may, however, wheeze or try to cough without making any noise.

Five slaps on the victim’s back
If you witness this, give the victim a maximum of 5 slaps on the back. After each slap, check if everything is in order. And if back slaps have no effect, perform a maximum of 5 abdominal compressions. If the problem is still not resolved, alternate 5 back slaps and 5 abdominal compressions.
If the victim loses consciousness, place them gently on the ground and immediately alert emergency services, then undertake cardiopulmonary resuscitation, starting by performing 30 chest compressions. Then continue resuscitation until help arrives or the victim resumes normal breathing.
