Prime Volleyball League: Kolkata second behind Kochi

Hyderabad: Kolkata Thunderbolts defeated Kochi Blue Spykers in the last league match of the Rupee Prime Volleyball League to become the second team in the points table. Kolkata won the match 13-15, 15-11, 15-13, 15-8, 10-15. Kolkata’s Vineet Kumar was named the man of the match. In the first semi-final on Thursday, the league-ranked Ahmedabad Defenders will take on fourth-ranked Hyderabad Black Hawks. The second semi-final between Kolkata Thunderbolts and third-placed Calicut Heroes will be played on Friday. Kochi lost the first set of the match on Wednesday. Kochi lost five of the six matches they played and finished last in the points table. This was Kolkata’s fourth win in six league matches.
