Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going to demand an apology from the royal family for the insults inflicted on them. This publication reports The Times.
According to the publication, the couple wants the royal family to “take responsibility for the pain and damage they have caused” by May. In addition, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are upset by the lack of a response from the palace to their accusations, which they told publicly. They want to receive an apology at a meeting that should take place before they visit the coronation of Charles III in May 2023 – it was previously known that the king invited his youngest son and his wife to the event.
According to insiders, the couple was angered that the royal family had previously arranged a meeting where the godmother of Prince William and friend of the late Queen Elizabeth II, Susan Hussey, apologized to the head of the Sistah Space charity, Ngozi Fulani, in order to settle the racist scandal. Fulani previously said that during a reception at Buckingham Palace, Hussey asked her humiliating questions and found out “what part of Africa she came from.”
According to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, this speaks of the “double standards” that are followed in the royal family. “Nothing like that was done when Harry and Meghan raised different issues: no meetings, official apologies or taking responsibility. It’s hard to come to terms with this, they would like to meet and hear an apology,” the insider says.
About their claims to members of the royal family, they told in the docu-series, the last episodes of which aired last week. In the series, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spoke about bullying by the media, which they say led to Megan’s miscarriage. Family members, according to Harry, did not try to intercede for them, as was the case with Prince William. In addition, it was heard in the series that the royal family deliberately spread information about them that put the couple in a bad light, in exchange for stories that could harm the reputation of Prince William not appear in the press.
In one of the episodes of the series, Prince Harry also expressed doubt that they will receive an apology: “I had to come to terms with the fact that we will never receive an apology or that they will take responsibility.”
The royal family has previously stated that they do not intend to respond to accusations from Prince Harry and his wife.
