Prince William: Did he know about Kate’s cancer earlier? – 2024-03-23 21:25:10

Since Kate’s initial admission to hospital in mid-January, William has scaled back his appearances and adjusted his royal duties to spend more time with his family

Prince William’s surprise absence from the memorial service for former King Constantine on February 27 in London is due to Kate Middleton’s illness, the Daily Mail reports.

William learned that his wife was suffering from cancer minutes before attending the memorial service and therefore pulled out of the event shortly before it began.

The absence of the Prince of Wales, who was christened by Constantine, from the event at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on 27 February had caused surprise and consternation. The Palace had limited itself to a vague explanation, speaking of “personal reasons”.

King Charles, who was already known to be suffering from cancer and has begun treatment, was also absent from the memorial service. His absence, due to his health condition, was justified.

Due to Kate’s initial admission to hospital in mid-January, William had scaled back his appearances and adjusted his royal duties to spend more time with his family.

William reportedly called Constantine’s family after the event to apologize for his absence.
