What can a successful dynamic businessman, a philanthropic lady of the good world, a pampered daughter, an uncontrollable young son and a promising rich son-in-law have to do with a young woman who was found dead in the hospital?
What does a Police Inspector ask of these respectable citizens?
Why is he coming to interrupt their happy family celebration?
Keeping the plot of a subversive detective drama, John Presley highlights the importance of individual responsibility for the course of human society. The author having the experience of the Second World War and the horror that humanity experienced, while writing his work in 1945, places the action in 1912, to have the opportunity to warn the heroes of the story about the coming disaster and to embellish the apathy and complete lack of consciousness, with which they face the lives of the people around them.
Along with a clever trick, it leads the viewer to believe, like the protagonists of the story themselves, that the problems of society do not concern them, that the powerful can sleep peacefully, the guilt can be covered, since no one will blame them for nothing. But they haven’t counted on the Inspector who… is coming.

A few words about the Theatreis team
The theater group THEATRES was born in February 2022. Its founding members are 3 friends, DIMITRIS KONSTANTELIS, APOS KYPRAIOS and MARILENA MORAGLI who, although their relationship dates back to the past, in November 2019, met again on the stage of a theater, a a meeting that was to be decisive for their artistic career. United by their love for the theater and the true willingness to explore the avenues it opens, they decided to devote time and soul and as much imagination as they have, to express their concerns, to talk about their concerns, to “play” their roles they dreamed of and to live on stage all the lives that would not fit into their one human life. Because that’s the magic about acting.
Thus they were led to their first creation, the show “THEM AND THEIR PANTS”, the theater season Fall-Winter 2022-2023, which was presented at the ALKMINI Theater for 15 performances and was a scathing comment on the way people judge others but and themselves by the “pants” they wear, poor or luxurious, armed or free, male or female, with symbols or without.
This year’s work again bears the stamp of their social concern, but based on a familiar and classic text, which nevertheless provides the possibility to read and interpret it in various ways. Individual responsibility, the responsibility that each of us has for our neighbor, or should have, is what the new show is all about. If each of us paid a little more attention to his microcosm, he might manage to improve the lives of the people around him, change the fate of those who are close to him or depend on him, and finally influence the society around him. “THE INSPECTOR IS COMING” to remind us.
The team’s goal, as in the previous work, is to make the audience have fun and dream, but also to leave the theater carrying something more, a thought, a hope, a reflection perhaps, about how each of us can to influence his small part so that this world becomes a little better.
