Princess Charlène (44) has finally returned to her home. The former professional swimmer was absent for several months due to illness. The mother of twins traveled to South Africa in early 2021 and was unable to leave the country for several months due to a respiratory infection. Hardly arrived back in Monaco, the princess had to go back to a clinic. This time to treat her “extreme exhaustion”, as husband Prince Albert II (64) said in an interview.
After her return to the Principality of Monaco, she is now particularly close to the people. In recent days, she caused a big surprise for the tourists who visited the Monegasque palace. The princess received the visitors, posed arm in arm for photos and chatted with them. The gates of the palace were opened to visitors after several years of restoration work. The tourists could hardly have gotten a more private insight than with Charlène.
Princess Charlène wants her place back
It’s been a long time since Charlène has been so relaxed and radiant as she has been lately. In addition, she is currently appearing more often than expected – even unannounced. According to the “Bunte”, there is a strategy behind their great commitment. She wants to take her place back. Because while Charlène was recovering, Albert’s older sister, Caroline von Hannover (65), took her place. She took on public appointments, especially with Charlène’s twins Gabriella and Jacques (both 7).
That must have been a stab in her heart. Because Charlène and Caroline are said to have never really gotten along. There was always competition between the two.
Public kiss with Prince Albert
She also seems to want to end the rumors of a marriage crisis. Most recently, Princess Charlène has always been in love with her husband. During a visit to Oslo (Norway), the two even kissed in public. A portrait was published at the beginning of July on the occasion of their eleventh wedding anniversary. While Charlène has opted for a long turquoise dress, Albert wears a dark blue suit. Holding hands, they try to smile away any rumours. (bsn)
