The unlisted world is moving forward on the path to sustainability. Three-quarters of private equity and private debt management companies now have a formalized ESG (environmental, social and governance) policy, according to the second edition of an EthiFinance study carried out among 247 French establishments. This share stood at 57% a year earlier. “The ESG maturity of these companies has significantly strengthened. Not only because of the new transparency rules imposed on them, but also given the increasingly strong pressure from their investors when raising funds,” summarizes Xavier Leroy, director of the consulting department of EthiFinance.
