Santa Cruz de Tenerife – Progress has been made in fighting the devastating forest fire on the holiday-loving Canary Island of Tenerife. “The potential of the fire is decreasing,” firefighting chief Federico Grillo was quoted as saying by the regional newspaper El Día on Monday morning. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez wanted to fly to the island on Monday to get an idea of the situation on the spot.
