Polish studio People Can Fly is known for its big-budget action games, which often offer great gameplay, spectacular graphics, and tons of guns. Back in June, it was revealed that the studio is now developing an Xbox game, simply called the working title Project Maverick. Many thought it might be related to Gears of War, considering the studio previously developed Gears of War: Inquisition, but if the latest job listing for the title is anything to go by – it sounds like it could be something else , or at least a different kind of war machine. One of the listings reads: “Project Maverick is an as-yet-unannounced AAA game being developed by Microsoft. Game development involves our European and North American teams. They are also looking for a narrative designer for Project Maverick, which we may have got A little hint as to what kind of game this is, as applicants should have: “Knowledge and enthusiasm for RPG games.” That would be a description that would fit Outriders (the studio’s latest game), but This is a Square Enix franchise, and unless Microsoft secretly buys it, it’s probably something entirely new.
