The Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office summoned former chairman Kim, who was imprisoned in Suwon Detention Center after an arrest warrant was issued yesterday (20th), and is intensively questioning the process of fund transactions between subsidiaries and whether or not slush funds were created.
Former chairman Kim admits to some charges, such as remittance to North Korea, but denies charges such as suspicion of payment of lawyer fees and embezzlement, saying that he is not in contact with Lee Jae-myung, the head of the Democratic Party.
The prosecution plans to continue the investigation during the Lunar New Year holiday.
