The prosecutor of the Public Ministry (MP), Mirian Reguero Sosa, was linked to criminal proceedings for the crime of abuse of authority.
Carol Patricia Flores, judge on duty in the Criminal Instance, ruled this Friday, April 12, that he lacked merit for the crimes of responsibility of public officials or employees and money laundering.
In addition, the judge granted the prosecutor house arrest without paying financial bail.
In statements to the press, Reguero Sosa indicated that they declared him lacking merit in two of the crimes. “They left me with a crime, but I hope to be able to resolve my legal situation because what is being done to me is not fair, I am being violated in every possible way,” said the prosecutor.
He added: “Sixteen years of work in the institution and victim of two attacks and nothing has been resolved in that situation. Thanks to God and to the investigative means that were presented by my defense lawyer, today I can leave and return to my residence.”
When they asked her why she was being accused of abuse of authority, the prosecutor responded: “I don’t have the slightest idea, but as I told you once, this is the type of support that I receive from the institution after what I have done.” lived, after what I have gone through, I really feel disappointed because the authorities visited me at my residence to tell me that I had the necessary support and a few days later they entered my residence, raiding me and capturing me for unknown facts, facts that the Public Ministry is really inventing it.”
They also asked him what these facts he mentioned are and he indicated that he could not give more information because the case is under reserve “and then I would commit another crime and the Public Ministry would capture me again.”
Prosecutor Mirian Reguero Sosa was captured on Thursday, April 11 during an investigation at her residence.
The prosecutor has survived two armed attacks between 2022 and 2024.
On Thursday, April 11, the MP issued a statement in which it reported that as a result of an investigation that began in October 2022, the arrest of the prosecutor for the possible commission of the aforementioned crimes was coordinated.
He added that it is “important to emphasize” that the investigation dates back to 2022 and arises from the first attack of which prosecutor Reguero Sosa was the target.
