Protecting Your Health: Guidelines for Living Near Polluted Areas

2023-07-17 15:48:33

The Flemish Agency for Care and Health recommends people living within a radius of 100 meters around the polluted area to alternate between eating fruit and vegetables grown in their vegetable garden and purchased in stores. They are also advised not to eat more than one egg from their coop per week, while the most vulnerable people should not eat any at all. For people living within a radius of 500 meters around the Londerzeelseweg, the agency recommends not drinking water pumped from a well, as well as not using it for cooking, filling a swimming pool or watering a vegetable patch.
