Protests and Bandits Fuel the Dollar’s Impact on the Street: Central Perspective.

Protesters blocked multiple roads in different regions in response to the decline in living conditions and the high value of the dollar. Significant road closures included the Benoit Barakat barracks in Tire, the Naqoura line by the Lebanese-Italian hospital barricaded with tires, the Jiyeh highway, and the Mar Mikhael-Chiyah and Barbir road. Citizens also blocked the Al-Abdah Akkar roundabout, Al-Mazraa Corniche road, Al-Jadida road, Saadnayel public road, Brital road, and several roads in Tripoli and Akkar. Moreover, the Al-Hariri project road and Al-Amin Roasters in Al-Qubba and the Mejdlaya Al-Qubba road were also challenged by protesters. Additionally, a group of individuals attempted to block the western lane of the Zouk Mosbeh Highway at the Jesus King Bridge with waste containers, but the army quickly reopened the highway for traffic. Protesters, against the deterioration of living conditions and the high exchange rate of the dollar, blocked a number of roads in different regions, most notably the road at the Benoit Barakat barracks in Tire, the Naqoura line before the Lebanese-Italian hospital, which was cut with tires, as well as the Jiyeh highway and the Mar Mikhael-Chiyah and Barbir road. Citizens also blocked, Walking at Al-Abdah Akkar roundabout, Al-Mazraa Corniche road in both directions, Al-Jadida road, Saadnayel public road, and Brital road, in addition to a number of roads in Tripoli and Akkar, challenging the Al-Hariri project road and Al-Amin Roasters in Al-Qubba, in addition to the Mejdlaya Al-Qubba road.

Also, a number of people closed this evening the western lane of the Zouk Mosbeh Highway at the Jesus King Bridge with a number of waste containers, but the army units operationally deployed in the area reopened the highway for passing cars.

On the other hand, protesters closed the Zouk Mosbeh highway.

As the protests against deteriorating living conditions and currency exchange rates continue in Lebanon, citizens have taken to the streets to block multiple roads across various regions. Despite their efforts, army units have reopened some of the closed highways, but the activists’ determination remains intact. These protests signal a growing frustration with the government’s lack of action and a call for urgent reforms to address the myriad issues plaguing Lebanon’s citizens.
