Public Prosecution Service starts investigation into Utrecht ‘banga list’

The Public Prosecution Service has announced that it has started an investigation into the ‘banga list’ that is currently circulating. This list contains female Utrecht students with photos, home addresses and telephone numbers. The PowerPoint presentation was made by members of the Utrecht Student Corps (USC).

The PowerPoint presentation contains dozens of pages about female students with offensive and sexually offensive texts written. There is also a separate chapter in which women are mentioned who are not ‘popular’. It contains photos, addresses and telephone numbers.

The Public Prosecution Service has stated that it cannot yet provide much substantive information about the investigation. In short, a spokesperson says that it is being investigated whether criminal offenses have been committed by the makers of the document.

The makers of the list are members of the Utrechtsch Studenten Corps (USC) and the female students appearing in the document are members of the UVSV women’s association

The boards of USC and UVSV, the Utrecht University, Utrecht University of Applied Sciences and local politicians have expressed their disgust at the document.
