Nadezhda Demeter, a historian, specialist in the field of ethnography and the history of the Gypsies, asked to restrict the use of this word at the legislative level. According to her, the term “indicates nationality and has a pronounced negative connotation.”
“As for the blogosphere, it is, of course, not easy to influence it there. But with regard to the state media, this definitely absolutely needs to be done, and we will definitely take into account everything that you said, ”the Russian leader said.
The head of state added that measures would also be taken to “not allow any elements related to any kind of xenophobia.”
