Rumors about Putin’s deteriorating health continue. In his forthcoming book (to be published July 21), ‘Killer in the Kremlin’, John Sweeney, a British investigative journalist, describes the changes he has noticed in Putin’s behavior and physical appearance which he says , scare him, report Newsweek.
One of the possible reasons for these changes: the use of steroids. “The president could have started taking steroid medication years ago to treat a back injury sustained after a fall from a horse,” he wrote.
The journalist describes the abuse of steroids he once witnessed in the case of a British mobster who took so much he ended up “dying when his own heart exploded”. The “hyper-aggressive” nature displayed by Putin in recent months reminded the writer of this matter.

John Sweeney already met Vladinir Putin in person in 2014, for the BBC. In this regard, he writes that he found the leader “subtle, flexible”, he spoke “calmly”. He then compares the Putin of 2014, “which looked like a thin-faced reptile” to that of 2022, “associated with a hamster with puffy cheeks, in poor health”.
