Xinhua News Agency, Xining, December 21 (Reporter Zhang Ziqi) After the 6.2-magnitude earthquake in Jishishan, Qinghai Province issued the “Emergency Notice on Effectively Providing Relief Guarantees for People in Disaster and Safety Management of Civil Service Agencies after the Earthquake” to provide assistance to people affected by the disaster. Families with basic living difficulties will be included in the scope of subsistence allowances and temporary assistance in a timely manner. Give full play to the “disaster relief” role of the temporary assistance system, and fully distribute subsistence allowances and special poverty allowances in the first quarter of 2024 to families in need in disaster situations in advance.
The relevant person in charge of the Qinghai Provincial Department of Civil Affairs introduced that by investigating the safety of life and property of civil affairs service recipients, the lives of civil administration security recipients, damage to various civil affairs infrastructure, and damage to the houses of families of needy people, families who died in the earthquake-stricken areas and disaster-stricken families were assessed according to relevant Standard rescue.
It is understood that this earthquake mainly affected the citizens of Haidong, Qinghai Province and 419 administrative villages in 46 towns in three counties: Hui and Tu Autonomous County, Hualong Hui Autonomous County, and Xunhua Salar Autonomous County.
The Qinghai Provincial Department of Civil Affairs and the civil affairs departments of Haidong City and the three counties in the disaster area promptly conducted inspections and emergency evacuation of residents of social welfare centers, nursing homes, children’s welfare homes and other civil service institutions.
